Yes, you heard it right!
Today we will be giving an honest review of the Chappi Dog Food that has recently emerged in the Indian market.
So without any further do, let’s dive into everything you need to know.
Chappi is a chappie’s version of the dog food made by Waltham center of PET nutrition which is situated in the United Kingdom.
It is officially manufactured and packed by Mars pet care that is famous for making other dog foods like Royal Canin, Pedigree, etc.
They have re-branded the product for the Indian market that is shown below.
As per the product, it is recommended to feed this product to dogs above 12 months.
One of the main features of this product is that it is easily digestible and helpful to the dogs with a sensitive stomach.
It is a balanced diet with a special blend of low fat and dietary fiber.
However, the exact ingredients have not been written over the package. This makes the ingredients content less transparent.
Chappi Dog Food contains cereals and some meat derivatives (i.e. also called as meat by-product). They include meat derivatives about 15% including 4% chicken and some quantity of white fish.
However, the quality of meat by-products is still a debatable topic. For someone who doesn’t know about meat by-products, it is something which humans don’t eat out of meat, like intestine, bones, blood, fats, liver, brain, etc.
The macronutrient contents of this product are 20% protein, 8% fat, 7% inorganic matter, 2% crude fiber, 1.98 % Omega 6 fatty acid & 0.15% Omega 3 fatty acid.
Nutritional additive contains vitamin A, D3, E, Magnus sulfate monohydrate, cupric sulfate pentahydrate, potassium iodide, sodium selenite, zinc sulfate monohydrate. [source]
This product does not contain any additive colors, flavors & egg, or dairy products.
It contains Omega 3 E and Omega 6 which is good for the dog’s coat. So do try this product if your dog’s coat is suffering.
This product is a cheaper option, just like Pedigree, for your dog. However, feeding this product in a mixture with your dog’s daily home-made food would be beneficial.
It contains a low amount of proteins and generally a lot of carbohydrates which will make your dog fat. So exercising your dog regularly is necessary.
Chappi uses meat by-products that are hated by most of the dog owners. But, some say that dogs in the wild have been adapted to eat those by-products and hence should not be a problem.
This product is a great source of Omega-6 which is necessary for your dog’s hair.
If you have been using dog food like Orijen, Acana, or Royal Canin, then changing it to Chappi won’t be a good suggestion, unless the budget is an issue.
For those who have been feeding your dog home-made food, adding this product will surely benefit your dog’s coats.
